Classes & Program

Our program reflects the philosophy that the early childhood years are for fun and a great deal of learning and discovery through play. It is recognized that growth is a sequential and orderly process through predictable stages of development.  Our responsibility is to understand these developmental stages and to offer a program that will nurture and facilitate the growth of each child to his/her highest potential.

We provide:

creative books, music and movement
time for sharing
open-ended art activities which will give the children the opportunity to explore the art materials and the art process
appropriate readiness activities in math and pre-reading
a print rich environment to promote language development
  • play experiences that include opportunities for children to use their imaginations

NEW Curriculum

Our curriculum includes for three and four year olds the OWL (Open the World of Learning) curriculum by Pearson Learning. “OWL is a research-based and field-tested, comprehensive integrated, Pre-K curriculum designed to develop language and early literacy skills in the context of rich content - primarily in the areas of mathematics, science, and social studies. Unit topics include Family, Friends, Wind and Water, World of Color, Shadows and Reflections, and Things That Grow,”

The curriculum for the Young Learners classes include Zoo-Phonics; The principle of Zoo-phonics maximizes understanding, memory, utilization and transference to all areas of the reading, spelling and writing process in a playful and concrete manner. We also are implementing Scott Foresman’s enVisionMATH to the Young Learners programming. As described by the publisher, “This interactive, hands-on math learning follows visual learning strategies which deepen conceptual understanding by making meaningful connections for students and delivering strong, sequential visual/verbal connections in every lesson. This curriculum provides ongoing diagnosis and intervention to ensure that the curriculum gives every student the opportunity to succeed.”

After School Programs

logoSoccer Shots is a program offered to children 3-6 that meets once a week at our school, with only children enrolled in our school, to introduce your child to soccer! Soccer Shots instructors are energetic and enthusiastic, are great teachers, and love working with children. They not only teach soccer skills, but also work on improving balance, coordination, and agility with the kids. Soccer Shots also uses the sessions to teach children important concepts such as teamwork, sharing and respect. Come join the fastest growing youth soccer program today! Contact Erin Gray in The Preschool office for more information!
