Mrs. Schuldt

What is your favorite children’s book and why?
I’ll Love You Forever. It reinforces unconditional love.
What was you first school experience?
In kindergarten I switched writing hands so I could sit next to my friend (and not bump elbows). I’m still left handed today.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing is seeing a child “light up” when they “get it”.
Where did your desire to teach come from?
I think from my own mother.  She was always there for us and any stray children in the neighborhood.

Mrs. Schuldt grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has a son and daughter who are both grown. She worked as a hospital medical clerk in a doctor's office for twelve years before starting a family. When Mrs. Schuldt’s daughter began preschool, she became an assistant preschool teacher. She has taught in preschools in Indiana and Arizona for over 15 years. Mrs. Schuldt is currently taking early childhood education classes at Mesa Community College.

Mrs. Berg

What is your favorite children’s book?
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, I love it because it is it is so funny, it's a fantasy and mainly because it is about friendship and the importance of each and every relationship we make in our lives.

What was your first school experience?
Mrs. Gibson, my kindergarten teacher, I couldn't wait to get to school each morning. I strive to be the "Mrs. Gibson" in each one of my pupil’s lives.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing about teaching is getting on the carpet with the children, one on one, to read or do a puzzle, it's what they teach me, to never forget to play, laugh, dream, and imagine.

Where did your desire to teach come from?
When I was 5 years old I turned my outside playhouse into a "school" and everyday I would spend hours and hours teaching my dolls, it became a wonderful reality.

My favorite thing about being a teacher:
My favorite thing is opening the door to greet the children each day. That initial eye contact between me and each child is a magical moment I cherish each day.

Where did you study to be a teacher?
I studied in Durban, South Africa, my home town at Edgewood Teacher's Training College. When I arrived in America, my certification was sent to New York, where it was re-evaluated and is equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Education in the U.S.

Mrs. Berg was born in Durban, South Africa. She is the youngest of 3 girls. Eighteen years ago she moved to Phoenix to be closer to her middle sister who had moved here with her family 10 years earlier. She was only here two weeks when they introduced her to a wonderful man, Bruce, and four years later they were married. She is the proud step mother of twin boys.

Ms. Guenther

What is your favorite children’s book?
Any children’s Bible. I love sharing stories with kids about how Great our God is and what He can do in each of our lives.

What was your first school experience?
Winky Bear Preschool was where I went to preschool and I think my favorite memories were our Christmas programs.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I love that kids are like sponges, always excited to learn more. That and they always say the cutest things so I find myself laughing with them all day long.

Where did your desire to teach come from?
As a teenager, I began a summer business watching children and quickly realized that this was the job I wanted for the rest of my life.

My favorite thing about being a teacher:
I love to teach the children to honor God whole heartedly with their words and actions.

Ms. Guenther was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago - Go Cubbies!! After moving to AZ several years ago, she began a business as an in home educator for several families in the Mesa area. The focus of what she teaches is positive communication and behavior. One of the first things that she helps families work on is setting healthy standards and boundaries for the children to follow as well as teaching the parents the importance of accountability. Most importantly, I teach the children to honor God whole heartedly with their words and actions.
